“The very word Pop, which takes its meaning from the word ‘popular’, is something that should appeal to as many people as possible, so it is not necessarily different for everybody. For us, the meaning of Pop is in the fact of creating something that can have a strong visual impact and transmit positive feelings to as many people as possible. We like the idea that our art can in some way also be an inspiration for those who follow us and perhaps stimulate new ‘popular’ ideas.”
Van Orton are twin brothers from Italy. Their art is influenced by pop culture, inspired by stained-glass windows of churches and evolved with geometric inserts and lines of light. They started out by re-interpreting cult movies of the 1980s, which led to their being contacted by brands including Disney, Microsoft, Armani and BMW.
