“On paper I feel I have more options where I can explore combinations of tones, lighting and also texture, while on a mural you have to be very selective and think about legibility. There are other factors at play too, like the ambient light, the wall material, whether it’s a bit reflective or not, etc. On the other hand, it is super-satisfying to see my illustrations living on real buildings, and it’s amazing to see people’s reactions to them!”
Originally from Buenos Aires and currently based in LA, Xoana Herrera has immersed her style into the advertising and animation industry.
