Wei Yaquan — San Francisco/Nanning

“With five thousand years of continuous culture heritage, customs, and beauty, the Chinese market stands in a globally irreplaceable position, and the Chinese design industry has an opportunity to speak to the whole world from its own unique perspective. The population as a whole is bored of the old aesthetic elements, which have already existed for thousands of years, so Chinese designers have started to redesign them, representing them with a revised understanding. As contemporary designers reform and re-interpret these elements, they are once again seen as relevant to everyday life. I’m excited to be a part of this powerful ‘design army’ that’s giving new life and new perspectives to ancient traditions.”

Wei Yaquan was born in Nanning, China in 1993. He is a member of the The Art Doctors Club NY(ADC), American Institute of Graphic Arts, and holds a student membership with Asia Pacific Designers Federation (APDF). In 2016, he was the recipient of the Golden Pin Design Award Design Mark.
