“If there is one that awakened my love for letters it would have to be be the logo of Troy Lee Designs. As a teenager (early 2000s) I was really into motocross and BMX. Typography in these sports has a specific look, translating the speed, action and extremity involved. Due to this graphic appearance of the logos, you can tell whether it’s an extreme-sport brand or not. That’s what really fascinated me.”

Based in Antwerp, “eltipo” is an all-round independent designer who specialises in both hand-drawn and computer-vectorised lettering, illustration and graphic design. His works are a merger of a diverse skill set with influences of various subcultures such as extreme sports, tattoo art, motocross, sign painting and graffiti, translated into different media.
