Eleni Vernadaki — 1095°C — Athens, Greece — 12 OCT 2016 | 8pm

The Benaki Museum, 138 Pireos Street, Athens

1095°C is a video installation curated by Vassilis Zidianakis, accompanied by live improvisational electronic sounds and it will take place at the Atrium of the Benaki Museum. Over 400 ceramic works of Eleni Vernadaki have been photographed, filmed and rearranged in cosmic formations creating a universe dominated by shapes of pottery. Plates become planets, floating teapots get lost in space and sculptural satellites travel through clay debris displaying the infinity of form in Vernadaki’s work. She has turned these forms into solid matter at 1095°C.

Concept & design: Vassilis Zidianakis & Em Kei
Animation / post production: Haris Laloussis
Live electronic sounds: Kostadis & Pavlos Gkousios
