Guillaume Léage is pleased to present “New Lights” with Louis Amar, artist and curator of the exhibition. “New Lights” addresses the connection between modern, contemporary artists and 18th century craftsmen with the same quest for artistic renewal through progress in aesthetics and techniques. Selected works show the manner in which different phases of globalization influenced creative approaches. Trade between France and the Orient in the eighteenth century clearly shows a cultural harmonization that challenges the idea of foreignness in art.
