Every September, the Ottawa International Animation Festival presents the world’s most cutting-edge, quirky and important animation — and transforms Ottawa into the centre of the animation universe. This year’s selection of animated feature films is one of it strongest and most diverse. From returning Grand Prize winner Jean-Francois Laguionie’s Louise En Hiver, to Penny Lane’s mixed media documentary NUTS!, to the somber, yet hopeful offering from Spanish directors Pedro Rivero and Alberto Vazquez (Psiconautas, the forgotten children), the 2016 Animated Feature Competition is not to be missed!
