THE BIG FLAT NOW is the infinite plane on which our culture operates, a surface of old genres and hierarchies that have been melted by the internet. For this issue’s dossier, Peruvian graphic designer JONATHAN CASTRO creates a visual representation of this fiber-optic landscape, Joerg Koch, Thom Bettridge, and Lucas Mascatello present 12 theses on the new paradigm, and JACK SELF unpacks the meaning of “Power, Flatness, and Nowness in the Third Millennium.”
