"Moving the Pointless Monument" by Fintan Magee — Werchter, Belgium
Sydney-based street artist, Fintan Magee, has taken his trademark urban mural style to a new canvas and a new continent with his striking new work ‘Moving the Pointless Monument’. In a change from painting large-scale murals on multi-storey buildings, the canvas for Magee’s latest artwork is a 16 metre tower of repurposed shipping containers installed on the festival grounds of Rock Werchter in Belgium – one of the largest rock festivals in Europe. Conceived and curated by contemporary Belgian artist, Arne Quinze, the unusual constellation of shipping containers known as ‘North West Walls’, is a permanent street art installation in the Belgian village of Werchter.
