onedotzero — Festival City — Osaka, Japan

onedotzero had recently produced ‘Festival City’ key visual, animation, summer events for The Asahi Shimbun Company, Takenaka Corporation, and The Asahi Building Co. Ltd development in Osaka Japan. onedotzero selected a shortlist of illustrators before commissioning illustrator Owen Davey via Folio Art. Owen was selected for his work on cityscapes and his particular colour style. The clients wanted a unique style with an ‘international look’ that would stand out in the Japanese marketplace. The visual centred on the twin towers of Festival City, with local sites highlighted with a creative buzz of people engaging in a variety of creative and leisure pursuits at the new destination. The client sought to present the development as a hub for the cities young creative professionals for years to come.
