“It’s natural for us to want to design for all people in Taiwan, including huaren [people of Chinese descent]; it’s a job that brings us a lot of happiness. We strive to ensure that all the design that comes out of Happ Design will be tied to its roots here in Taiwan, and then spread out across different cultures from there. No matter how our work is interpreted within different cultural contexts, we try to design from the common life experiences shared by all people.”

After graduating from Pratt Institute, Happ Design’s founder and Creative Director, Lin Tien Hui, worked in advertising agencies in New York and Taipei; the skills she learned while abroad, she now brings to her team in Taipei. Happ Design was awarded a Design Mark in the 2016 edition of the Golden Pin Design Award.
