Raw Color — Eindhoven, The Netherlands

“In a way, the term food design seems to describe very much what it deals with, in the same way that other design-discipline terms do: graphic design or textile design both relate essentially to the medium/material. In that sense, it is working with a certain set of ingredients within a certain context and arranging it in a sophisticated, unexpected or new way.”

Long before they decided to name their studio Raw Color, both founders Daniera ter Haar and Christoph Brach had worked with foodstuff. Their very first project was researching natural pigments originating from vegetables. Now they continue to create work that reflects a sophisticated treatment of materials and colours by mixing the fields of graphic design and photography.
