Suzan Drummen — Amsterdam, Netherlands

The thousands of objects in each of her artworks are placed by hand, making the intricate patterns that adorn gallery and museum floors. The fractal-like patterns in each installation form a temporary three-dimensional carpet that alters the space in which it is installed, by reflecting light in all directions.

In an act of patience and precision when working with precious stones, chromed metal, optical glass and crystals, Dutch artist Suzan Drummen creates sparkling floor installations that are full of illusion and a visual array of colourful eye candy. Suzan plays with space, optical illusion and effects, exploring the beautiful details of daily life.
