Team Thursday — Loes van Esch, Simone Trum — Rotterdam, Netherlands

What makes a good pattern design? “A pattern that you can keep on looking at. This doesn’t mean it has to be very intricate; it can be simple as well, as long as it stays intriguing over a longer amount of time.”

Loes van Esch and Simone Trum have been collaborating as a graphic-design duo under the name Team Thursday since 2010. They focus on the design of visual identities and books varying in scale and complexity. Team Thursday irregularly hosts exhibitions and events in the front part of their studio space, TTHQ, in Rotterdam. In addition to their daily practice, they teach typography at ArtEZ Arnhem.
