What is the attraction for you of creating illustrations? “I can create my own universe piece by piece, which is a fantastic idea that keeps me very busy. I tried a lot of different things before I started to study communication design, but very often I had the impression of just wasting my time and so my life was very unsatisfying. It is different with illustration. I can focus on my work easily and it gives me enough energy back to stay positive and to take the next step. I really like my job and I think that makes me quite a privileged person.”

German freelance illustrator Thomas Weirich mainly designs cover artwork and merchandise for bands, graphic design for street-wear companies and illustrations for magazines. He also works on personal projects such as his split-series cycles or Space Faces collection.
