Thonik's resume spans from cultural institutions such as the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam, the Museum Marta Herford in Germany, the Architecture Biennale Venice, the Power Station of Art in Shanghai, ZKM Karlsruhe, Manifesta 9 and the Holland Festival. Amsterdam-based design studio Thonik was founded by Nikki Gonnissen and Thomas Widdershoven in 1993. It specialises in graphic, interaction and motion design. At the moment Thonik is a group of 15 people. They believe that what sets it apart is the clarity of its designs coupled with a focus on content. The firm unites a conceptual design mentality with an emphasis on typography. And it has gradually introduced this graphic language and method into multimedia campaigns for major clients.
